The DSNY Holy Name Society is a fraternal organization of Catholic men and women within the Department of Sanitation. We are rooted in faith and inspired by a shared commitment to helping others. We honor the values of humility, charity, and public service both in and out of uniform.
01
Supporting fellow sanitation workers and their families
We stand together in solidarity, offering care, assistance, and resources to help our members and their families thrive both on and off the job.
02
Giving back to our neighborhoods through service and fundraising
Our commitment extends beyond the workplace as we actively volunteer, raise funds, and invest time in the communities we proudly serve.
03
Promoting unity and moral values in the workplace
We foster a culture of respect, teamwork, and integrity, ensuring that every member feels valued and inspired to uphold the highest professional standards.
04
Encouraging spiritual growth and prayerful fellowship
We create space for reflection, faith, and fellowship, strengthening the spirit of compassion and gratitude that guides our work and daily lives.
05
Supporting children with special needs through charitable compassion
With compassion and purpose, we advocate for children with special needs, dedicating our charitable efforts to programs that bring them comfort, joy, and opportunity.
The Society was founded in 1931 on a simple belief: when we lift each other up, we all grow stronger. For generations, we have stood beside DSNY employees and their families, offered comfort in times of need, celebrated achievements, and carried forward a tradition of faith, respect, and service across the department.
Helping children with special needs has become the heart of our mission. Every fundraiser, every event, every charitable initiative is driven by this purpose. We focus our efforts where compassion can make a lasting difference, and we take pride in the hope and support we provide to these children and their families.
This is more than tradition. It is our calling. It is our promise. And it continues today with the help of every member who chooses to give, serve, and stand together.
